When Omar said that when you look closely at the oppressors actions and what they say, you begin to realise that every accusation they lobe against the people they are oppressing are actually confessions. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Since time immemorial the way to ruin a person's character and credibility is to cast aspersions about said person's character, especially if you held power over them or deemed yourself superior in both status and/or morals. No one knows this better than girls and women because historically they have largely been at the receiving end of what we can call character assassinations. All it took was one whisper here, one imagined allegation there and their whole lives and sometimes that of their families as well was ruined because somebody somewhere could not get their way. Sometimes these women paid with their lives, case in point King Henry's wives and even the Salem witch trials! Closer to home, we have seen how grandmother's and mothers have been hacked to death in Kisii because someone wanted to grab their land( often a family member) and thus accused them of witchcraft causing their murder. The trifecta of abuse usually follows similar themes/lines; witch, prostitute or thief singularly or all three at once.
Often when you look into those who make these accusations you will find that they are nonces, insecure men and sometimes women who are looking to overcompensate on whatever they feel they lack; status, intellect, power, charm, physique the list is long and varied and their aim is normally to humiliate and punish you as payment. Now the one I'm familiar with has had the privilege of being called all three; enter the Witch, the Prostitute and the Thief
Imagine being shackled to someone who has complete control over you; your finances, your passport, beats you up regularly, accuses you of sleeping around but doesn't want to let you go and still manages to impregnate you on the regular while naming said children after his ancestors and ontop of that is a nonce! Madam that's a PIMP. You are/were SHACKLED to a PIMP šš¾āāļø! Then the said nonce and PIMP has the audacity to call you a Prostitute, a Witch and Thief, like come on, imagine how pissed you would be if you had Hermoine's level of wizardry combined with ocean 8's level of skills but you couldn't make your life and circumstances better. You know like turn him into a frog or something and build an empire! I am pissed on her behalf, like Madam you mean you had the powers to get out of the shithole life and shackles and kept it moving but nah. Anyway you know what I can't even stayed pissed because who knows what kind of jedi mind tricks Mr nonce had played on madam, given that he had groomed at her as a child of 16years when in his 30s. All I can say is that I'm rooting for her because she must have done something right if folks are still being flogged on her behalf three decades later of her being six feet under! That my friends is what you call a Legend. May she keep on snatching people's edges from beyond the grave.
