I am a British-Kenyan Muslim Woman who is passionate about giving back to my community. When my head is not buried inside a book, or i am not spontaneously breaking into song, then you can find me having conversations with my Dad under the mango tree. You might also bump into me plodding along at an NHS Trust or elsewhere doing what i began 28 years ago - Nursing. Other times i’d be trying to put words on paper and i mainly write from life experiences and also get inspiration from things and people around me, some of which are available to purchase as Books or Journals on Amazon or my Bookstore or other Stockists. Throughout my 28 years of Nursing, I have gained a lot of various skills and experiences around nursing, working conditions, navigating nursing and work spaces as a Black Nurse and various career paths. I am also passionate about matters patient safety especially around Black patients and how we can advocate for our own healthcare. Outside of nursing, I am also a writer and an author, an aspiring farmer who also loves to give back to my community in Kajulu, Kisumu County, Kenya via my House of Tengo Foundation.
